Wealth and Investment Planning

A business owner often holds most of the family's wealth inside the company, with personal investments, property and succession left to separate decisions. We plan these together, with the tax position of each step worked out in advance.

Owners of family businesses in Nashik usually build wealth inside the company first. Salary, dividends, rent on the factory land and loans to the business then decide how much reaches the family and how much tax is paid on the way.

Without a plan, these decisions are made one at a time. The result can be capital gains tax at a sale that a different structure would have reduced, retirement savings that depend on one company, or a succession that leaves shares and control divided among family members without clear terms. Our wealth and investment planning sets out the family's position as a whole and works out the tax effect of each step before it is taken.

Planning

  • Financial planning

We record income, assets, loans and commitments, and set out the cash the family will need for education, housing and other goals. The plan is reviewed each year with the tax return.

  • Wealth planning for business owners

Money drawn from a company as salary, dividend, interest or rent is taxed differently in each case. We plan how and when funds move from the business to the family, and keep the business with enough working capital.

  • Retirement planning

The retirement corpus is estimated from expected expenses, and contributions to the provident fund, the National Pension System and other savings are set against it. The tax treatment at withdrawal is considered at the same time as the deduction now.

Investments

  • Investment advice

Asset allocation is recommended on the basis of the family's goals, time horizon and capacity to bear loss. Returns are never promised, and any advice on specific securities is given only within the limits of the applicable SEBI regulations.

  • Tax-efficient structuring of personal investments

Capital gains rates, holding periods and the treatment of interest and dividends differ by asset. We review where each investment is held, in which name and for how long, so that the tax on the expected return is known in advance.

Estate and succession

  • Wills

A will is drafted by a lawyer. We prepare the schedule of assets, check the tax effect of each bequest and coordinate with the lawyer on the drafting.

  • Private family trusts

A trust can hold shares or property for the next generation. The tax position depends on whether the trust is specific or discretionary, and we advise on that choice and on the annual returns.

  • Family arrangements and succession of the business

Shares, property and control of the business may pass to several members of the family. We plan the transfers so that gift, capital gains and stamp duty consequences are known before the documents are signed.

For manufacturers

  • Factory land held personally

Many plants in Satpur and Ambad stand on land owned by the promoter and leased to the company. The rent, the eventual transfer and the succession of that land need a plan of their own.

  • Wealth concentrated in one company

When most of a family's assets are shares in one unlisted manufacturing company, we plan a gradual separation of personal investments from the business.

  • Next generation joining the business

Shareholding, remuneration and board positions for sons and daughters entering the business are planned with the tax and company law effect of each step.

  • Sale of a business or a unit

A sale brings a large sum to the family at one time. The capital gains, any available exemption and the investment of the proceeds are planned before the transaction is agreed.

How an engagement runs

  1. Information meeting

We meet the family members concerned and record their goals, assets and existing arrangements.

  2. Written plan

A plan is prepared covering cash needs, investments, retirement and succession, with the tax effect of each recommendation.

  3. Implementation with other advisers

Lawyers, registered intermediaries and bankers carry out their parts, and we coordinate the steps and the documents.

  4. Annual review

The plan is updated each year when the returns are prepared, or earlier if the law or the family's position changes.

Common questions

Do you sell investment or insurance products?

No. Products are not distributed by us and commissions are not received. Insurance and actuarial work is outside the scope of this service.

Can a family trust reduce tax?

A trust is mainly a succession tool. In some cases it changes the tax on income, but a discretionary trust may be taxed at the maximum marginal rate, so the decision depends on the facts of the family.

Is a will enough for succession of a family business?

A will deals with assets at death. Control of the business, the shareholding during the owner's lifetime and the rights of other family members often need a family arrangement, a trust or changes to the articles of the company as well.

How are capital gains on personal investments taxed under the new Act?

The Income-tax Act, 2025 applies from tax year 2026-27, and capital gains are taxed by asset class and holding period. Gains on transfers made in the financial year 2025-26 remain under the Income-tax Act, 1961. We confirm the rate for each asset before a sale.

Where can I check whether an adviser is registered with SEBI?

SEBI publishes the list of registered investment advisers on its website.
